✉️ A Letter from the Editor

Over the past decade, I have worked with women founders and executives to amplify their external presence — or their “signal”.

External signal is a combination of things: positioning, voice and tone, thought leadership lane, and cadence.

Many people get stuck on the “cadence” part. They feel the pressure to show up, often, on external platforms. Like all of us, they are hard on themselves. They have self doubt. They want to do the next right thing.

So here’s the deal: Being a high signal founder isn’t really about the cadence.

The main thing when it comes being high signal lies in how clear a person’s unique value and offering is, at any given time.

Being high signal means that the founder’s offering is clear, consistent, and actionable.

High signal founders proactively — in their profiles and posts — answer key questions like:

✔️ Has this founder sold their product or service to a large scale client?

✔️ Is this founder uniquely qualified to be running this company?

✔️ Has anyone I know invested in this founder?

Part of my mission and purpose with WINS LIST is to drill this home:

The way women founders show up externally IS important — for their leadership, their bottom line, and their fundability.

In other notes, I am pleased to share that over $275M in Pre-Seed to Series C investments in women-founded companies were announced this week.

Kashable (Einat Steklov) raised the largest round as reported this week with a $60M Series C led by Goldman Sachs Alternatives.

One thing is very clear: men are investing in women.

Stated differently, the majority of investment going to women founders, each week, is coming from male-founded venture firms.

This week, only one of the venture firms backing women-owned businesses was co-founded by a woman — and that is Eileen Burbidge of Passion Capital.

The signals in this digest come from a variety of credible sources. If you have a tip, opp, data point, or story you would like to include, please send it to [email protected].

Thank you for being a valued subscriber of WINS LIST.
