My deep dive into the [women + capital] stories of the week uncovered more than a few multimillion dollar investments — one for a slick $200 million — as well as valuations in the billions and (projected) trillions.
A recurring theme I’m seeing is high investment activity in women-owned businesses focused on human health, in particular, women’s health. From GLP1 to maternal health to women’s brain health to robotics + senior living, this ecosystem is alive, kicking…. and, in some cases, overdelivering.

⚡️ Founder Amplified
High-signal woman founder building momentum
The Win: Pivotal (Melinda French Gates) makes direct investment in Binti.
Felicia Curcuru, co-founder and CEO at Binti — creator of software built for child welfare — announced a $3 million investment by Melinda French Gates’ firm, Pivotal. This is a direct investment — not part of a funding round.
The Signal: Fortune Most Powerful Women published an exclusive interview with Melinda French Gates where she discussed the investment.
Her Words:
“Having spent hundreds of hours shadowing social workers – and now serving half the country in child welfare – we have a deep understanding of the challenges in this space and a long list of ways technology can help.
And we're not stopping at child welfare. There are deep challenges across social services, workforce development, and beyond – and we're excited to lean into AI to move quickly across those areas too.”
Signal Breakdown:
Fortune’s interview with Melinda French Gates is a turbo boost for Felicia Curcuru and Binti. This interview is propelled by the outlet’s 700k audience and their MPW (Most Powerful Women) newsletter subscriber base.
Carrying nearly 29,000 followers on LinkedIn, Curcuru herself is masterfully stacking her wins. In February, she was profiled as a 2026 CNBC Change Maker, outlining the following capital signals for Binti:
✅ launch of Binti AI, a responsible AI platform developed in collaboration with Anthropic’s AI for Good initiative
✅ expansion via improved foster-family licensing nationwide
✅ software is now used by more than 550 agencies across 37 states
The cross promotion and expanded reach from Fortune, CNBC and Curcuru’s own channels is what makes her this week’s Founder Amplified.
💬 Investor Speak
Notable commentary from women in venture capital
“Most people think you need $100K+ to invest in startups. You actually need $1K. That’s what angel syndicates were built for.”
📊 Numbers & Figures
Newly released data on women, wealth and capital
New Pitchbook data shows female founders often build more capital-efficient companies with strong exit outcomes, yet venture funding still lags performance metrics.
Key takeaways:
Female-founded companies generated 24.9% of all US venture exits by count in 2025.
Female-founded companies advance at a higher rate after round one and go bankrupt at a lower rate than the all-US cohort.
Biotech and pharma—a sector where female founders are overrepresented—was among the few to grow in both deal value and deal count, producing two of the year's largest transactions: Capstan Therapeutics ($2.1 billion M&A) and Orbital Therapeutics ($1.5 billion M&A).
