Personal branding is not selfish.
Check out this week's hot opp and personal branding goodness from WINS.
Personal branding is not selfish.
There are people who think personal branding is reserved for those who like being the center of attention… or those who like hearing themselves talk. Pish posh.
Here’s the reality. By putting time and energy into your personal brand, you’re doing yourself and others a major solid. You’re paying your experience forward.
As leaders in business, we need to remind ourselves of how far we’ve come in our career journeys. How much experience we’ve gained through the highs and the lows of our professional lives. And how much others can benefit from all of that goodness.
It is when we take time to reflect on our success (and our failures) that we realize we have so much value to give. In sharing our story with others, we are actually increasing their chances of future success. By sharing our learnings, we are paying it forward.
The generosity that accompanies your personal branding work does not have to come with zero return. In fact, it almost never does.
The return on the time spent sharing your expertise with a group of small business owners might look like: a speaker fee, a new customer, a loaded pipeline, or another opportunity to speak. All of these things are good.
Personal branding is not selfish. It’s actually a very generous act of kindness. It can also have a very positive impact on your business.
This week’s hot opp is an opportunity to speak to small and medium-sized business owners at the Main Street Summit next spring in Columbia, MO.
Expand your influence. Build your wealth. Celebrate your success.
