Storytelling is your personal sales strategy.
When I position a client for storytelling, it is not always clear to them that we are establishing the foundation of their personal sales strategy. Yes, we are prepping to sell.
A personal sales strategy starts with the basic elements — your headline, the one line of text most people read that helps them quickly understand your unique expertise, and your well-designed bio that fuses the personal with the professional.
The storytelling piece comes next. Sharing stories — relevant ones that establish credibility — takes some deep brain work, which is why most people don’t do it. The goal is to share bits and pieces of your story regularly — weekly, monthly, quarterly — that both illuminate your human side and illustrate your expertise.
What happens when you start to share personal stories of relevance is this:
You start showing up on feeds. You start building curiosity and trust with readers. You start seeing engagements on your posts. You start to understand who is listening. And before you know it… you are getting direct messages, booking calls, landing interviews and signing new clients. Boom.
By digging deep, doing the foundation work, and mustering up the courage to share your stories on the regular, you are effectively executing your own personal sales strategy.
So, whatever your goals are for 2025, think about how you can incorporate storytelling into your plan to achieve them. If you need help with that, consider booking our Personal Brand Intensive. We would be honored to jumpstart your storytelling journey.
Expand your influence. Build your wealth. Celebrate your success.

Adweek’s BRANDWEEK [speaker application is open]
Brandweek, presented by Adweek, is an annual convention of marketing leaders of today and tomorrow. At this four-day event, you’ll drill down on the business of brands: the personalities, products, services and concepts that distinguish one company from another.
The annual event is slated for November 2025. No specific dates or locations are listed at this time. The website does refer the event being held in the “desert”, without any further details.
The speaker application, while brief, is open. To access it, scroll to the bottom of the homepage and click on the red graphic at the center titled “Inquire about becoming a speaker.” The form requires a 500-word pitch on why you should be considered as a speaker for the event.
Registration is open, with fees ranging from $279 (virtual pass) to $1599 for a brand marketer to $4999 for a technology or software provider. Each tier has unique benefits and group rates are published.
Register or apply to speak at Brandweek here.
